The juicy meatballs are ideal for BLW and toddlers, because they are very tender even for beginner eaters to enjoy. The family friendly recipe is high in protein, requires only 5-ingredients and only take 10 minutes to prepare.
- 200g minced beef
- 2 tablespoon of Love Earth organic oat bran
- 2 tablespoon of milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon of Love Earth onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste (can be omitted if cooking for baby below 1 year old)
(Notes : The secret for making juicy meatballs is the oat bran soaked with milk, because they stop the meatballs from becoming dry. The egg will act as a binder to help the meatballs stick together.)
In a small bowl, mix oat bran and milk together, sit for 10 minutes. Add in one egg, stir well. Mix the wet ingredients into the minced beef, then add the tablespoon of onion powder for the extra flavours. Mix until combine then roll into 1 tablespoon meatballs.
You could make a larger portion and store the uncooked meatball in food freezer tray with individual portions. We are using the Richell Baby Food Freezer Tray to store and freeze the meatballs for quick lunch in the weekdays.
Ways to serve meatballs:
- Meatballs in tomatoes sauce goes very well with pasta or baby noodles.
